Provided by AtA for all projects:
- Annually updated searchable database of eligible Kansas City artists
with images of and information about each artist’s work and qualifications.
These artists of excellence have been selected for participation by
a curatorial panel of arts professionals from the Kansas City area
and Midwest region, following an open call to all artists residing
within a 60 mile radius of Kansas City, Mo.
- Initial meeting with AtA program representative including: introduction
to AtA; discussion of project scope and project/client interests; discussion
of possible scenarios for art purchase/commission; review of potential
artists of interest; narrowing pool of artists for gallery or studio
visits or more information; determination of approximate scope of services
relative to art budget.
- Following initial consultation meeting, AtA representative
will contact a selection of galleries and artists of interest to schedule
gallery and studio visits and, as appropriate, accompany architect/client
on visits (number of visits to be determined relative to art budget).
- Follow-up check ins to track progress and expenses.
- Plaque of Art Achievement for public display at project site and
digital Art Achievement logo/stamp for architect + client use.
- Recognition of completed project on AtA website.
- Creation and distribution of press release to local and regional
media describing project and purchased/commissioned artwork in context
of initiative
For Silver level Art Achievement projects (in addition
to all services listed above):
- In the case of commissions of new work, AtA representative
will attend meetings as appropriate with/among selected artist, architect
and client to help define project scope, contract with artist, and
process for completion (number of meetings to be determined based on
project size/scope).
For Gold level Art Achievement projects (in addition
to all services listed above):
- Recognition of completed project with special front-page
feature on AtA website, including narrative and images.
- Inclusion of project documentation in annual/biennial
AtA exhibition.
- Co-hosting of outreach/unveiling event at completed project site
and promotion of event to AIA membership if desired.
- Publication of project in annual/biennial AIA Awards publication.
Additional services available at rates to be determined:
- Management of artist selection process for site-specific commissions:
work with architect/client to develop RFP to short-list of eligible
artists; solicit proposals from artists/schedule presentations; work
with architect and client to select final artist for commission; oversee
completion of work
- Consultation on framing, lighting, and placement of works at project
site
- Artwork transport to project site
- Physical installation of artwork at project site
- Writing and production of wall texts/essay/brochure/catalogue about
purchased/commissioned artworks
*All services beyond initial consultation may be contracted
out by AtA to qualified subcontractors
